Hey there! I’m a 34-year-old newbie in town, but I’m already a busy bee buzzing around volunteer work with local non-profits. I’m not much of a night owl, but if you ever need a brunch buddy, count me in! I’m a bookworm at heart, so curling up with a Steinbeck classic or devouring an autobiography is my idea of bliss. When I’m not lost in a good read, I’m out jogging in First Landing State Park or at Trashmore, soaking up nature’s beauty. To chill out, hot yoga is my go-to and helps me Zen out. And if you’re ever in town, keep an eye out for me and my daughter, we’re the ones with a deck of Uno cards and a yummy meal at a local restaurant.

About Jacinta Gauvin

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My daughter Scarlett is my whole world! She is smart and funny and entrepreneurial, already starting her own business at 11! I also have 9 siblings! Lost count of how many nieces and nephews…

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

With over six years of experience in financial services, I was beyond excited to land my dream job as a financial advisor at Raymond James last year. My passion lies in helping local businesses, families, and independent women – like myself – navigate the challenging and often complex world of financial planning. My goal is to provide them with a foundation to build on, and help them solve the puzzle of financial management.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Don’t be afraid to go after what you want and follow your heart!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Fast forward five years, and I see myself chilling in Virginia Beach, doing what I adore and soaking up precious moments with my loved ones.

Jacinta Gauvin & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Doc Taylors is my go-to destination for unwinding! As soon as I step inside, it feels like I belong there.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

A little over a year.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

This feels like a trick question, there are far too many amazing individuals to pick just one!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

The Garage in the Vibe district, it encompasses everything I love about the community!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

From the moment I moved here, I was struck by how warm and inviting this town is. It’s truly amazing how involved the community is in supporting each other and making this a great place to live.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos’s ex wife. Because I love how she has handled the divorce and i admire her philanthropic work. We would have to go to Aldo’s because the food is delicious and they are huge supporters of our community.

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

There’s something special about the movie Sling Blade. It’s a wonderfully crafted story that blends humor and heart, all with a dark edge.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

Admit it – conspiracy theories can be wildly amusing and captivating. It’s always a thrill when one of them turns out to be factual.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Beacheventsvb.com! It’s a treasure trove of free beach activities like concerts, movies, and more. I love how everyone’s welcome to join in on the beachy fun, and no one feels left out.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

Choosing just one person is difficult, as there are so many remarkable individuals I admire. Firstly, my wealth management team at Raymond James is a group of brilliant and talented people who are simply the best. Then there are those fighting for the voiceless in organizations like CASA, NAMI and Samaritan House. Lastly, my family is a never-ending source of inspiration, demonstrating that despite disagreements, love and togetherness always triumph.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
